The Remnant

(Read Romans Chapter 11)

“So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.” Romans 11:5

Have you ever questioned God’s love for you? Have you ever felt forsaken by God?

The Jews did.  Today, you may feel alone and discouraged. The good news is that you’re not alone. Be encouraged—you have brothers and sisters in Christ in your city, county, throughout your country, and all over the world. This has always been the case, and it will always be the case.

As we read Romans 11 we see that God still has a great plan for Israel’s future and for Gentiles. It’s wonderful to know that God keeps His promises despite our failures. Even though Israel as a whole rejected Jesus as their Messiah, there is still a remnant chosen by grace. God does His best work through a remnant, a faithful minority chosen by grace. Their dismissal of Jesus has blessed the world because this salvation message was then opened to the Gentiles. Israel has not fallen beyond recovery, in the end Israel will be saved through faith.

God preserves a remnant.

If Israel’s rejection by God brought the reconciliation of the world, then Israel’s acceptance by God will make the world alive spiritually. Which means a spiritual awakening is coming.

God invites each one of us to be adopted by Him. Yet, from the time of the Israelites to now, only a remnant says yes to His offer of freedom and salvation, it is God's plan to bestow mercy upon all mankind.

Pursue God with all your heart and trust Him to guide you.
