Will You Heed the Call?

A Walk With Romans (Read Chapter 10)

Will You Heed the Call?

Romans 10:14-15 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

Paul tells the church in Rome there is great news, Christ did not just come to save the Jews or to save the Gentiles but to save everyone, all it took was belief. Too many times we look at people and notice how we are different instead of how we are the same. Paul though reminds us that in Christ our differences don’t matter compared to the one common purpose we share as children of God.

There are over eight 8 billion people in the world and at least 75% are not believers. That means there are 3 people out there that need to hear how God has changed your life. Think about our verse.

14a “But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him?” A person must believe that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior, that he died on the cross for their sins.

14b “And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him?” To believe, people need to know what to believe, they have to have heard the gospel.

14c “And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?“ Too many times we expect someone else to share, God is calling you to carry the torch and do our part. We must tell someone, we can’t wait and hope someone else will. If we have the opportunity, share about what God has done in your life because if no one shares the gospel it will never reach the lost, hurting and dying in this world.

15a “And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?” You have a purpose in live and you were not created to sit on your pew and do nothing. You were created for life, to be a lie a city on a hill, burning brightly. A light for all the world to see. You have been called and sent, the question is will you go?

15b “That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” Someone, somewhere is all about rejoicing because of the truth you are about to reveal to them. God has given you the greatest news of all time, a love story for the ages. You can not, you must not keep it hidden.

Will you take up the challenge to live a life that helps bring others to know Christ the way you do. God is calling, will you heed His call?

Think about 3 people you know who do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, then make a commitment today to begin praying for them and for God to open up a door for you to share what He has done in your life.
