“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13

Forgive means "to excuse a fault, absolve from payment, pardon, send away, cancel, and bestow favor unconditionally."  My pastor has said the hardest words to say are I am sorry, I was wrong, I love you, Please forgive me. If we only had to forgive things we found ‘forgivable’ life would be be easier or would it? It is important to push past the hurt and pain we’ve suffered to forgive someone.

Our world romanticizes love to the point where we forget that in relationships, there will be times when our trust will be violated and there will come a time when we will inevitable be betrayed to some extent. Or our hearts will be broken by those who profess love for us.-John 16:33

I want to live the high life with God, don’t you? But if we spend our life resisting the will of God and living our way but choosing to carry unforgiveness then we are living the low life.  Matthew 18:23-35 says that if we do not forgive people, we get turned over to the torturers. This is true. I am sure you would agree me that it's torture to have hateful thoughts toward another person rolling around inside your head. Love in its truest, purest state is exemplified when we can look past the moments we might consider ‘unforgivable’ offenses and show grace to others by extending the same forgiveness God extends to us. -Ephesians 4:32

In our most unforgivable state, Christ, in the greatest love story ever told, taught us love has nothing to do with a warm fuzzy feeling, stuff animals, and red hearts. God’s great and wonderful love for us  drove Him to Cross where He proved how much He loved us, taking on all our sins and shortcomings and allowing Himself to be crucified. Christ forgives us because He loves us. And as His representatives we need to look past the pain because we are called to do the same.-Luke 6:37 I have felt at times it’s unfair for others to  receive forgiveness when they have hurt me, but now I realize that I'm helping myself when I choose to forgive and  also helping the other person by releasing them so God can do what only He can do. God will deal with those who hurt us if we'll put them in His hands through forgiveness.

I am borrowing this from a friend to share with you all- “Forgiveness doesn’t excuse anyones behavior, Forgiveness prevents their behavior from destroying your heart.”-KP

Walk in love each day, Tell someone you forgive them just as God has done for you. “..Freely you have received, freely give.” -Matthew 10:8
