"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you;”  -John 14:27

We don’t have to choose to live a life where we experience being aggravated and frustrated every day. No matter what is going on in your life right now, the Lord promises that you can have peace.  Psalm 85: says, “I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people...”  Notice that in this verse, make the decision to listen to what God says. When you make the decision to listen to God and follow His direction, you will have peace. Yes, there is  a worldly peace we have when everything is going our way. But the peace Jesus gives is different.  It’s a peace that passes our understanding; it makes us peaceful when all natural reasoning says we should be upset.

Stop allowing yourself to get upset, aggravated and frustrated. Listen for His voice the Bible says you are His sheep and you can hear His voice, and the voice of a stranger you will not follow. “let not your heart be troubled or afraid.” We will never break loose from anything we’re struggling with until we take personal responsibility for where we are now.

You may be thinking to yourself, “God doesn’t speak to me.” But The Lord speaks in many ways—sometimes through a friend, or a song or in the beauty of nature. Sometimes it’s a simple “knowing” deep down on the inside of you. If you aren’t sure how God speaks to you, ask Him to teach you. All you have to do is open your heart and be willing to hear His voice. As you open your heart to Him, He will speak, and you will live in His peace all the days of your life.

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." John 16:33

“Father God, thank You for Your promise of peace. I open my heart to You and ask that You teach me to hear Your voice clearly. I give You all that I am today in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
