STRANDED

“And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.” Ephesians 1:13-14

Have you ever felt stranded?

In your own journey, you may encounter unexpected circumstances that cause you to feel alone and unable to move. Trust that God will help you find what you need to make it through. He will never leave you stuck.

Nine months ago my husband and I embarked on a journey. Our current home is somewhat of a little over 1,400 sq ft., 3 bedroom to bath and we had taken on a sacrifice not only for us but for our children. They gave up their bedrooms, most of their toys and belongings packed away and the rest of their room was then moved into ours. So not only my mother would have a room in our home but also my father in law. We quickly became like sardines in a can. Every inch of the house was inhabited by someone or by one of the pets. There were many complaints regardless of all we did to make others comfortable and what we gave up, while trying to adjust our daily routine of work, parenting, homeschooling, etc..

No matter the attention we would give elsewhere, things seemed to always be a mess, we were completely exhausted and it seemed no matter our efforts, nothing was ever good enough. Needless to say it was a stressful time for us. My husband and I seemed to always be at each other and by 8:00-8:30 pm we were zombified.

There were many times I had recounted everything and wondered how I had gotten on this island. This island I felt was the will of God for my family but had somehow caused a lot of disorder and chaos. I questioned God, Was this the right decision or had I made a decision to try and handle things and care for things on my own. (Because I have been known to do that.)

God understands our frustrations so don’t waste energy trying to hide them from Him. As much as you can, try to focus on the Character of the One you’ve entrusted your soul to. The good thing about admitting those times and things is that God always reminds us He works all things to the good.- Romans 8:28

I had finally reached a point where all I could do was think of how to try and get back to the mainland. I felt surrounded by dark forests and it seemed no matter what escape I had pondered in my mind the prospects weren’t looking good. In an all too dark place God reminded me of the Authority we have over the enemy and how we must always exercise that authority and somehow instead of doing what I had known to do I was beginning to surrender to defeat. Thank God for my husband’s spirit. It was his prayers that were my ticket off the island and to a safe passage. With boldness and authority He prayed the enemy out of our home. We can’t afford NOT to believe that supernatural stuff happens and it was just that. Through the power of prayer God performed the supernatural. He restored the peace.

Has God ever rescued you from a place of feeling stuck or stranded.?

We live in a world where there’s too much pain, heartache and disappointment. Believe you me, I realize that being in a place of displacement in my home doesn’t even scratch the surface of feeling stuck or stranded, but I just want you to know, if you’re in a place where you’re feeling stuck or trapped - be it health issues, relationship troubles, loss, or financial problems – anything that seems inescapable and the task before you insurmountable, God is there and He will come for you!

He is Mighty To Save.

He has great plans for your life, and nothing can prevent ALL of those plans from coming into fruition as long as your soul remains aligned with Him. Be patient with God and with yourself. The next chapter is around the corner. God made you, and no one cares more about your spiritual success than He does. If you let Him have His total way with you, the day will surely come when you say that everything you’re going through or have come out of was well worth enduring for the wonderful prize God has in store for you and the close relationship you have with Him.

“Be strong, all of you who put your hope in the Lord. Never give up.” -Psalm 31:24
