Pray for Your Friends

“And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” Job 42:10

This school year let God work through you. Do you ever wonder how you can reach your friends for Christ? It starts with prayer. Think of five friends who do not have a relationship with God and start praying for the opportunity to share your faith with them. What would it look like if you prayed for your non-believing friends?

What your friends need most is a growing relationship with God. In order for that to happen, they have to open their heart to be filled with the acknowledgment of that need and desire. They need God to give them discernment (wisdom for drawing the right conclusions and making right decisions). God has provided a source of wisdom for life: Himself- James 1:5-8.  Pray that their need for understanding and their search for truth will bring them closer to God. We were all created in the image of God for the pleasure of God. -Revelations 4:11 regardless if your friends realize it.  Pray that your friend would please God by their actions and their behaviors (public life). And pray also that they would please God with their attitude and beliefs (private life).

Pray that their weakness leads them to rely on God’s strength by faith. Pray that they will be able to say, like Paul, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

The Christian life is neither easy nor difficult. It is impossible unless it is lived thru’ Him who called us to it!

We can all thank God that He has given us everything we need for life and godliness -2 Peter 1:3. He has qualified, empowered, and authorized His people to be, to do, and to go where He requires. He has made us suitable victors, overcomers, and heirs of His inheritance. Praying for your friends is a blessing for them and for you.

Pray for your friends.
