Grow Your Faith and Walk in It

“Whoever says He abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which He walked.”-1 John 2:6

How can we encourage the growth of faith in our hearts and walk by it.?

When we can view hope as a mental expectation of something good, faith arises in our hearts. And it grows as we follow Jesus. God’s Word is powerful and it can cause the light of faith to shine.

Jesus was always, at all times, following the will of God, our Father. If it was in the will of God to keep on loving and teaching and healing, then Jesus never missed a beat. How did Jesus do this? He walked by faith.  For we live by believing and not by seeing.-2 Corinthians 5:7

Walking by faith means living life in light of eternal consequences, to fear God more than man; to obey the Bible even when it conflicts with what man commands; to choose righteousness over sin, no matter what the cost; to trust God in every circumstance; and to believe God rewards those who seek Him, regardless of who says otherwise. -Hebrews 11:6

Rather than loving the things of the world spend your life glorifying God in everything you do.-1 Corinthians 10:31 When you choose to base your life on the truth of God’s Word, rather than on the popular philosophy of your day, you are going against your natural inclinations. If you are walking by faith you will stop hoarding money, and give to those in need. -Luke 11:41  No matter what society says about sexual immorality being acceptable, base your standards on the unchangeable nature of God’s Word, which says any sex outside of marriage is sin. -Galatians 5:19  When sickness comes have the faith to believe you are healed and walk as if you are. Tune your heart to the voice of the Holy Spirit and the truth of His Word.

Stop building your life around things that have no eternal significance.  Stop pursuing the same things the world pursues, focus on the unseen realities such as Jesus and heaven. Walk by the will of God, and not by the will of man. Aim to please God in all things. You may lack in your faith, many will refuse to have faith; but no matter what we should still walk by faith. Grow your Faith by daily drinking in the Word of God.

Remember God is the cornerstone. He is your foundation. Choose to live according to what God reveals to you, rather than trust your own understanding.-Proverbs 3:5-6

Our God is a God of faith, faith in Our God matters!  God is most honored through your living, active, death-defying, out-of-the-box faith. That being the case, he's committed to growing it — BIG .

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.-Hebrews 11:1-40

Meditate on God’s Word and let the truth of His Word transform you and move you forward into the abundant life God has prepared for you!

Father God, Increase my faith as I learn to depend on You and trust You more and more. Help me to crave Your Word: to read it, to heed it, and to test it, so it can truly become part of my life. I long to be a doer and not just hearer. Lord, I desperately need more of You and less of me. Thank You for Your faithfulness. You have always kept Your Word. In Your Name I Pray, Amen.
