“Where there is no vision, the people perish: But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” -Proverbs 29:18
In other words if we can’t see what God is doing, we will stumble; but when we see and take part in what He reveals, we will be blessed.
How many of you wear glasses or contacts at least part of the time? Why? I would say it’s because you want to be able to see, Right.? Vision is such a major part of our lives and as powerful as your eyeballs are, they have one significant limitation. Your eyes can only see physical reality. With that being said do you have the ability to see God’s plan for your life.? Do you have clear spiritual vision.? It is not more knowledge you require, but better vision to see what has already been revealed in Jesus Christ. It is important for you to see with certainty and with clarity what Christ has called you to be and to do. You need to develop spiritual 20/20 vision.
Believe the Bible is the absolute word of God! Rely on It. Be constant in your reading and studying of God’s word; apply it consistently and you will gain the vision to see what God has done, is doing, and will do, in and through you.
Spiritual vision comes when we do what the Proverb says: keep His law, follow His teaching, and take part in what He is revealing. You need spiritual vision to carry out what God wants you to do in order to reach the lost, if you are not reaching the lost then you are not accomplishing God’s mission. Get a renewed emphasis of what God has called you to do.
You have worked very hard at making the Great Commandment a reality—to love God with all that you are. You have focused great amounts of energy on praise and worship BUT you need to work equally as hard to make the Great Commission a reality. Every human being has spiritual eyes. God gave them to us so that we could apprehend the spiritual realities of life. Once you have gained focus, don’t let your spiritual vision be blinded by the glare of what your physical eyes see.
Holy Spirit, open the eyes of my heart, so that I will see You and hope in You. Shine the light of Your glory into the dark corners of my heart, I don’t want to remain blind and stumble about. I want to see your glory. May Your beauty outshine every other thing that promises satisfaction and help me to gain an eternal perspective on reality. Then out of the abundance of that vision may I be unable to stop pointing those around me to You, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; so that they too might see and believe. I ask ask this because I believe that it will glorify You. In Your Name I pray, Amen.
