You Can Turn It Around!

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit." -Ephesians 6:17-18

Can I just be real with you. Spiritual Warfare isn’t a joke!  I have been attacked in more areas than one all at once. The last thing the enemy had to say to me (and I say the enemy because I know we battle not against flesh and blood but rulers and powers of darkness, against spiritual wickedness in high places.)  The last thing the enemy said to my reply of no weapon formed against me will prosper was, “ bless your heart is it really worth all of this.” I didn’t respond back with a text reply. I verbally outloud spoke to the enemy and said Yes! Because I try to do all things pleasing to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, no matter what anyone else thinks. He knows my heart! I can’t blame everything on the devil though. I chose to engage in a lengthy text conversation that I could have chose to ignore. I shouldn’t have engaged. As my pastor says, “You can not get an unreasonable person to be reasonable.”  Everything isn’t the devils fault. Bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people. The bible says, “In this life, good people are often treated as though they were wicked, and wicked people are often treated as though they were good. This is so meaningless!” -Ecclesiastes 8:14

There is a question we should always ask ourselves regarding whatever difficulty we are going through. Is this an attack of Satan.?, Is it a trial from God.?, or, did I make a bad choice and am I reaping what I sowed.? Pursue the discernment to understand the nature of any hits we are taking. You have to so that you can counter any schemes of the devil effectively.

I know I let my flesh act out by texting with an unreasonable person which led to more and more attacks on me. Yes, I am a Woman of God, but I’m not perfect and I do make mistakes. I had to ask God to forgive me for letting the devil get a foothold and for not standing strong. The enemy knows when we are weak which is why we should always put on our Armor daily! (preaching to myself because there are times I don’t.)

By examining my conscious with all honesty and asking the Holy Spirit to reveal any hidden sin I knew I needed to repent. There are times when doing that though I come up empty and that narrows my search down to actual enemy attacks or trial from God. But know that doubt, fear, unbelief, depression, or hopelessness are never trials from God. God doesn’t author temptation either.

You are the best person to decide what's really going on, seek out godly counsel from those who know you well and who know the details. It doesn't matter as much that you are being attacked as it does what you do with it. You can turn things around. Declare God's Word and his promises over your life. Assert who you are in Christ because of the atoning work of Jesus on the cross. I am so thankful He says, "But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD; their vindication will come from me. I, the LORD, have spoken!" -Isaiah 54:17

Thank you Lord!
