He is ALL Sufficient

“Jesus replied, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’” -John 6:35

Have you heard the song, “I AM” by David Crowder.?

The words read:

There’s no space that His love can’t reach

There’s no place where we can’t find peace

There’s no end to Amazing Grace

Take me in with Your arms spread wide

Take me in like an orphan child

Never let go, never leave my side

~David Crowder, “I Am”, Neon Steeple

This life is full of hurt, pain, and suffering, but this life is not all there is. God’s word says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” I’m thankful that our all-sufficient God satisfies. In Him we no longer have to hunger or thirst. In Him we find a life filled with the abundant fruit of His Spirit, and a life everlasting for all eternity.

Is your soul hungry and your heart is thirsty.?

Do you feel an unquenchable longing for something leaves you feeling restless.?

Does it feel like almost everywhere you turn, the grass is greener than where you stand.?

Have you ever thought for a moment the Spirit of God beckoning you to himself.? It's time to Stop turning away again and again to short lived, temporary, backfiring pleasures. Whether it be the wrong type of movies, drugs, alcohol, the tanning bed, a new toy, music, there are many things I could list.

The thrill will only leave you with the sediment of guilt and loneliness. Drugs and alcohol can't keep you from waking up in the real world again and again with your messed-up relationships. The tan looks so artificial and it fades quickly. And the new toy, you know will be boring in a few weeks.

Stop drinking from a broken cistern!

Stop eating bread that doesn’t satisfy!

Could it be the grass is greener everywhere else you look because your life is not devoted to the pursuit of righteousness.? Think about it, What do you pursue daily with a strong urge regularly and with perseverance.? Instead of that thing, hunger and thirst for righteousness and to establish it in your own soul, your relationships, and in your world. Because when you hunger and thirst for righteousness it is then that you are looking to God and He is The One and Only who offers and can satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst.

Reflect on the lyrics by David Crowder, and seek the One who seeks you.

Father God, open my eyes that I may see. Open my heart that I may know and understand how sufficient You are in all things because Lord, I don’t want to hunger and thirst anymore. Fill me and let my cup overflow with all of who You are, because of what You have done for me. I want to rest in Your all-sufficient grace, no longer needing anything of this world. Because You are all I need. You are my Great I Am. I praise you and thank you. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
