“I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion.” -Proverbs 8:12

The dictionary defines wisdom as “the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting.”

Do you have to make an important decision today.?

Wisdom is a gift from God. I am sure most of us face many decisions daily. It may seem at times we can make them on our own but truth is, we can’t. Life isn’t about throwing up a coin like you do before a game and saying, Heads you win or Tails I lose.

God gave us His resources so that He could help us to make healthy, wise choices for our life.

God gave Solomon His wisdom making him the wisest man in history. You can read all about it in 1 Kings chapter 3. We all need wisdom from God to make it through life.

He said: “I am Wisdom—Common Sense is my closest friend”.  -Proverbs 8:12  ”I am Strong and I offer sensible advice and sound judgment. -Proverbs 8:14 The book of Proverbs is perhaps the best book in the Bible to study when seeking to learn biblical wisdom.

None of us are exempt from decisions. But be encouraged; we don’t have to make them alone. Because God says, I am Wisdom and I am Strong. The end result in seeking and trusting God is summed up in verse 33: “Listen carefully to my instructions, and you will be wise.”

When we fear the Lord, which is the most basic form of knowledge, God can then begin to provide us with wisdom through Jesus, whom the Bible says is wisdom itself. Know that God will lead you in making the right decisions and He will give you the right answers if you are seeking Him. Spend time each day before God asking Him to direct you about very specific issues. Talk to God about everything. Since wisdom is found in the Word of God, we must apply ourselves in study and meditation to know the Word daily and to do it.

Father God, thank You for the wisdom and strength you give us daily. We know that wisdom is the principal thing.  Help us as we face this week, to lean on You asking for Your guidance in every life issue.  We want your wisdom in life and as we gain wisdom help us to have understanding. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
