Count it All JOY!

“Consider it pure joy, when you face trials of many kinds.” -James 1:2

Since God is the source of all goodness, His glory is the wellspring of all joy. What God does for His own sake benefits us. Therefore whatever glorifies Him is good for us and that includes the suffering He allows or brings into our lives.

Has God ever put you right in the middle of difficult trials just so that He can put His power on display in a way that causes other people around you to make a decision in their hearts to trust the Lord in their own life situations.?

We all go through different trials in life and sometimes God uses our trials just to give encouragement to others. By allowing suffering, insults, hardships, and conflicts God is teaching us to rely on Him more and gives us the opportunity to minister to others. Trials produce endurance and increase your faith and the faith of others. He is always there with you. All through Scripture we see the persecution of the church, the trials and hardships that believers have faced.

The challenge is to truly learn how to consider each trial joy.

This topic is very near and dear to my heart because it is a lesson I’m relearning each and every day. My mom was diagnosed as bipolar psychitzophrenic and my father in law has had numerous surgeries because of diabetes leaving him dependant on a wheel chair. We’ve faced seemingly insurmountable obstacles, caring for both of them in our home. My mom has been living with us for over 10 years and my father in law the past 5 months. My daughters have given up their bedroom to share a room with my husband and I, we are in the process of getting things ready to start building a home that fits our needs, I homeschool on top of all the other things I tend to through the day including lots of doctors appointments, and bad attitudes.

But you know what I am discovering.? God’s joy really is there. I am not speaking of feeling happy, but God’s joy. Happiness isn’t something you can cling to when you’ve lost a loved one or you are facing obstacles or trials. Joy, on the other hand can stays with you. Why, How..? Because real joy is from God.

Even in the darkest days, when sadness, grief, pain, and loss threaten to overwhelm you, God’s joy is there. You CAN greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory even when you feel like you are face-first in a mud puddle. You CAN endure whatever circumstances are making you quake in your boots right now. If you have been saved through faith in Jesus Christ—you have all you need. As hard as it may seem, Count it all Joy!

“Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability” - 2 Corinthians 8:2-3 Become imitators of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, welcome the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit -1 Thessalonians 1:6

Make a decision to choose joy every day. No matter what!

“BE JOYFUL ALWAYS” -1 Thessalonians 5:16

The Joy of The Lord is Your Strength!
