Our Ultimate Guide

Psalm 23:3 “He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.

Camping and hiking in the wilderness can be fun but the one thing you learn is to make sure you know where you are going and have the equipment to help you get there. When I was in high school, I had the opportunity to do an Army map reading course. Our group was placed at different parts of the course and given a map and a compass. We then had to use those tools to find each station and finish the course. Of course this was timed and the fastest team through that found all their stations won. I’ll admit it started off slow. We had knew how to read maps from our JROTC class at school but being in the middle of the woods was a lot tougher. Things changed though when we reached our first station. We gained confidence, the second station even more. All of a sudden instead of slowly making our way through the woods we were sprinting and after finding our last station, even though we were hot, tired and sweaty we ran as fast as we could to the finish.

The thing is God works in our lives the same way, he guides us along the correct path and each time we stay where God has called us. We are strengthened and we become more confident. I had a map, compass and a team for my test. As believers God has given us the Bible, prayer, fellow believers and the still small voice of the Holy Spirit to direct and guide us in our tests and trials. As you go through life, remember God is there whether in the darkest moments or the best. He is giving us guidance on what path to take. If you are lost or at the point of not knowing what to do. Spend sometime today seeking His face and listen, God already knows where you are being called to. As leaders we simply have to trust in His plan being better than our own. The truth is, the more we trust God, the stronger we become and the more people who will see Jesus at work in us.

What circumstance do you need to allow God to guide you in today?
