Are you Waiting.?
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. -Romans 8:25
The waiting period can be the most trying, the most painful and the longest period of your life no matter how short it may be. At least it seems that way maybe because of the times I have encountered His most deafening silence. But even in the waiting I know I’m not alone. Read Romans 8:22- 25. With that being said I am sure my true character is being revealed. Waiting for God’s answer to prayer knowing what we do now about how He does answer, knowing what we deserve , and that He will provide more than enough we should focus on what we are gaining from this waiting period. Surely it will teach us patience, it will test our endurance, and will sometimes shake our faith. (I know mine has been.) But it’s all in the name of Love. God knows best and He is smarter than us. He knows that even if we are in the right place at the right time, we will still miss our blessing if we’re not in the right frame of mind. Read James 1:2-4.
As uncomfortable as it may be the longer the waiting, the more we will appreciate and value whatever it is we have been waiting for. I mentioned already in UnAnswered Prayer that I have been waiting for God to answer a prayer. I can tell you some prayers I have had He has answered exactly the way I had hoped for and quickly. This prayer like some others He is still revealing.
Although I admit that sometimes I want to rush things by trying to move ahead and I get impatient with Him and want to say, “God, this is good enough what about this.?”, I know that He has my best intentions in mind and wants to abundantly bless me. Knowing He wants to abundantly bless me isn’t something I have always believed. Because of feeling I don’t deserve it but as said before Who says we deserve anything God graciously gives.
Are you believing God for something and in the waiting.?
While you are there believe God for more than enough. If it’s a house. Instead of asking God for 2,000 square feet believe Him for 3,000. He is a God of more than enough. I don’t understand His purpose for making me wait but I am not going to put a deadline on my prayers or limit Him. God is infinite for a reason and even though I don’t understand, I trust His will completely.
While you are waiting keep believeing in Him and keep serving. It may be in your service to Him you will see His answer unfolding and feel His love.
In my waiting, I’m going to choose to be happy because being miserable doesn’t rush the process. So why not be joyful instead? We have to know our role! God says in His word. “Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.-Romans 5:1-5
This waiting will make us wiser and help us to realize things that we did not realize before by gaining discernment when something is not good for us, even though it looks good, sounds good, or feels good. Whether I get exactly what I pray for, more than what I pray for, or just gain wisdom from the waiting period, I know I am not waiting in vain. Even a lesson learned is still a blessing because wisdom gained is priceless. God is faithful through it all.
So I leave you with this encouragement that is also meant for me.
Don’t give up! Wait for what God is preparing for you. Don’t let this waiting period discourage you. Hang on to His word until it manifests in your life. BECAUSE! I Believe God has a harvest ahead!
