What Do you Deserve.?
“As the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him” -Psalm 103:11
Jesus will provide for you. Are you struggling to believe that you deserve it.?
As I said in UnAnswered Prayer “I never asked Him if there was a possibility of something more because I never asked Him for more. I have always only asked for my need to be met.” Most of the time I feel I am doing, better than I deserve. Even though I have heard from others I deserve so much more and have heard from others to expect more. In my mind I thought not really, the only thing I truly deserve is God’s judgement. Because I have never thought highly of myself, and I know thinking of ourselves more highly than we should will diminish our sense of deep indebtedness to God for His grace. It discounts the price He paid to rescue us.
Does it sound like it’s time for a reality check?!
Psalm 103:10 reminds us that God “has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punishes us according to our iniquities.” God never sweeps any evil under the rug. Honestly if you truly think about it considering who we are in light of a Holy and Just God, the only thing we truly deserve is hell. Heaven is only an absolute possibility— because of the gift of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and because of that Paul says that all of us ungodly people will be treated as innocent if we believe in Jesus. -Romans 4:5
Because of that, if God never does anything more than redeem you, He has already done far more than you deserve. He gives us all so much more than we deserve because He is a God of more and He wants to provide us with More Than Enough.
So with that being said is it wrong to expect or believe God for more.?
Lord, thank You for not dealing with me according to my sins. I am indebted to You for the love and grace that You demonstrated on the cross to purchase my pardon and forgiveness—far beyond what I deserve. I love you always. In your Name I pray, Amen.
