Are Your Words Fitly Spoken.?
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.” -Proverbs 25:11
In this chapter, I found myself focused on a single key verse, verse 11. This proverb describes the beauty of a word spoken appropriately and at the right time. We talk day and night usually giving little thought to what we say. Our mouths can be a gracious gift to express genuine concern, love, and encouragement.
The words we speak are many things; they can give hope or despair, comfort or hurt, they can encourage or beat down, teach or confuse, be truth or lies, make us happy or sad, laugh or cry. God gave us two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, two hands and two feet, BUT only one mouth for a reason. We should choose wisely the words we use. If we were going out in public we wouldn't choose our clothes by reaching around in the dark and just grabbing something to put on and yet that is how we dress our mouths sometimes.
A word fitly spoken….Have you ever had someone say something that just fit in the right place where the emptiness was in your heart.? I’m thankful for the timely advice God has given me through others and in turn He has also used me to do the same. -Proverbs 11:25 When we are led to share or speak something to others we should simply obey. You never know when the words you have to share are the words someone needs to hear.
Everyone has challenges, successes, disappointment and excitement;and others will experience the same kinds of things. We also experience times when we are trying to gain wisdom and understanding in relation to God’s word. It’s important that we choose to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and those around us, we should rejoice with others when good things happen, empathize in the hard times, and encourage them when they need a lift, and share the words God would have us to share.
God is a constant companion, a friend that sticks closer than a brother, and He is the lifter of our heads. Shouldn't we also extend His grace to others.?
Choose to be sincere not with just a select few but with everyone. It’s our sincerity that will cause others to seek out our wise words. Who and what we are is shown to others by our words. So be careful what you say and choose your words wisely. God gives people the gift of discernment.
What do they discern about you.?
What do your words say about you?
Do they reflect the love and truth of the Lord?

King Solomon compared inspiring/supportive words to gold (Proverbs 25:11). That’s how valuable they are and as you watch your words, you will prove to yourself how much of God's goodness is in the world, in others, and how much of God's goodness is in you!
Proverbs 15:23 says, “ A man has joy in the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!”
