The Armor of God

“Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” -Ephesians 6:11

Do you have your armor on.? Are you ready to face the battle.?

We are in the fight of our lives! In our war with the enemy, his society and our human weaknesses, we need spiritual help. Ephesians gives us insight into the nature of the spiritual warfare we face daily and encouragement that we can be victorious in all the battles we face. Are you facing any battles..? Do you see one ahead.?

No battle is too big for the Lord!

Our combat (in all things) is not against each other but against spiritual forces. Great is the protection and resources the Lord has provided to us. We will meet the enemy but will be able to stand!  That being said, STAND in readiness for spiritual combat. Our demonic enemies are behind much of what comes against us to harm us. Paul tells us to take up the whole armor of God. But what is this armor, and how do we put it on.? Is it still relevant for us as Christians today.? What do you think.?

Each day we must consciously put on the spiritual armor of God. The armor of God is a divine protection our God has supplied us with. With having the armor of God also give yourself to constant, faithful prayer. Let God change your prayer life to a life of prayer.

“Gird your waist with truth…”- Ephesians 6:14 The devil is the father of lies. Lies of detestable to God. Put on truth for your own sanctification and deliverance, as well as for the benefit of those to whom you witness.

“..put on the breastplate of righteousness..” What is this.? It is the righteousness of Christ, imputed by God and received by faith, which guards your heart against the accusations and charges of satan and secures our innermost being from his attacks.

Ephesians 6:15 - “..shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace..” This means you need to advance into the devil's territory, aware that there will be traps, the message of grace is essential to winning souls to Christ and satan has many obstacles placed in the path to halt the spreading of the gospel.

Ephesians 6:16-  “Above all, take the shield of faith to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one..” Stand on faith! Don’t allow the enemy to sow seeds of doubt about the faithfulness of God and His Word. Keep yours eyes on God! He is the author and perfecter!!  -Hebrews 12:2

“..Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit…” -Ephesians 17 The head is the seat of your mind,  when it has laid hold of the sure gospel hope of eternal life, you will not receive false doctrine or give way to the enemy's temptations.

YOUR MIND MUST BE CAPABLE OF DISCERNING BETWEEN SPIRITUAL TRUTH AND DECEPTION.

Also, “..pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit  (that is, with the mind of Christ, with His heart and His priorities) in addition to wearing the full armor of God...being watchful…” -Ephesians 6:18

Don’t neglect prayer! It is the means for you to draw spiritual strength from God. Without prayer, without reliance upon God, our efforts at spiritual warfare are empty and futile.

Ephesians 6:12 clearly indicates that the conflict with Satan is spiritual, and therefore no tangible weapons can be effectively employed against him and his minions. It says, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,  but against principalities, against, powers, against darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

The full armor of God is Truth, Righteousness, the Gospel, Faith, Salvation, the Word of God, and Prayer. These are our tools! With them we can be spiritually victorious, overcoming the enemies attacks and temptations. Thank you, Lord!

“Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”- Ephesians 6:10

“Take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to Stand.” -Ephesians 6:13

We are soldiers of the living God! We are "more than conquerors through Him who loved us"! -Romans 8:37

We MUST BE READY FOR BATTLE!
