Let God

(Proverbs Chapter 3)

“Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” -Proverbs 3:5,6

Those two verses are a precious gift that any parent could give to their child, or a friend to share with another - a gift that speaks of the deep inner love of God and His way of dealing with our lives. It was also a favorite to a very dear family member who passed on. A women who I saw who lived a life in pain and still continued to live her life for God until her final day. Pain didn’t get in the way of her devotion to Him and seeing that has stuck with me and always will.

In this Chapter of Proverbs, Solomon instructs that wisdom is rooted in sound teaching, rests in trust in God, and tells of the rewards for those who obey. Direct (yashar-Hebrew) means to be straight, right, upright pleasing to God. God will “straighten out” the path of His devoted, trusting servants. The word “ways” and “acknowledge” are especially significant. “ways” (derek -Hebrew) means a road, a course, or a mode of action on each new day.  The word “acknowledge”  (yada -Hebrew) means to know by observation, investigation, reflection, or first hand experience, but the highest level of yada is direct intimate contact. This scripture is powerful in regards to intimacy and spiritual breakthrough.

Intimacy with God can conceive and birth blessings and victories. In all our days if we maintain direct intimate contact with God, God promises to direct our paths toward fruitful, life begetting endeavors. 1 John Chapter 5: 3 says, “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

“Trust in the Lord God with all your heart!", those are powerful words!  When the next fear comes your way, KNOW that God will lead you from it and lead you to where no fear is for you.  He will give you peace and teach you strong inner-strength so that you can deal with your life and help other people with their lives. Lean means: “support yourself”  Our understanding of this world is from what we have been told, led to believe is true, and what we have seen with the normal senses. God is asking us to not trust only those senses, but to lean to Him and trust Him beyond what we have been told, what we have seen, and what our senses tell us.

Do not lean into the ways of the world, for they are lost, and they will lead us as the blind lead the blind. You cannot have trust without Belief in God and that He can do all things. Trusting and believing we must honour the ways that He has set before us and His rules - the rules are to lead us away from evil and to lead us to safety and His security, His protection, and the hope He has for our future. Grow your faith bigger than your fears in life. God is bigger.

What more could we want than showers of blessings in the everlasting loving arms of God. Let God do what only He can.

Don’t depend on yourself, Cry out to the Lord, Run from evil, put and keep God first in your life, listen to the Holy Spirit, rest in God’s love and TRUST THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART.
