You Are Being Led By God to Make a Difference

(Proverbs 21)

“The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; He guides it wherever He pleases.” -Proverbs 21:1

In chapter 16 Solomon said, “We humans make plans, but the LORD has the final word”  and “In your heart you plan your life, But the LORD decides where your steps will take you.”  In chapter 20 he said,  “A person’s steps are directed by the LORD.  How then can anyone understand their own way?”

These verses teach us of God’s sovereignty, but they also reminded of our responsibility. When you read the words in Proverbs 21:1 “He guides it wherever He pleases,” it may sound to you like Solomon is saying that we don’t have a will at all. We are not puppets and God Almighty is not a puppeteer. You and I both know from reading the Word, from life, and from experience we know that God has a part and we have a part too.

If we didn’t ever have a say in the matter, then why would we pray.?  Why would we plan.?  Why would we petition anything of the Lord or bring anything before Him if He is simply going to do what He wants to do anyway.?
God gives us choices to make and some of those free choices have their complications. There may be times we make poor decisions, causing ourselves and others grief. But God would not accomplish His purpose in our lives if He were to deny us the freedom to make choices. It is up to us to choose life by exercising the freedom and responsibility of free will.

God’s sovereignty doesn’t alleviate us from the weight of our decisions, it adds to the task of seeking God’s will and of aligning our decisions with His.  Acknowledge the fact that while God gives us authority (here in the earth), you are under a GREATER authority.!

God influences us.  He can see to it that the work of our hands is either blessed or ineffective.  He can see to it that we are either promoted or removed. We are all the same and no different than anyone else. Those in authority are only there because God allows them to be there.  If we as leaders routinely abuse the authority that has been given, we will quickly find ourselves without it.  But if we allow ourselves to be influenced by the God who blessed us to be where we are in the first place, then God will continue to bless us TO BE a blessing.

Are you a leader.? Then thank God for blessing you to have that authority, but remember that God has ultimate authority.! Use your influence for God’s glory and allow God to lead you as you lead others.   You are blessed to be able to make a difference in the lives of others every day.  So Do it, make a difference.!

Let God lead you as you lead others.  Allow yourself to be led by the greatest leader our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
It is God’s hand on your  life that makes you an exceptional leader.  Have great expectations and go make a difference.!
You will by God's grace have a hand in changing the world.
