The Right Choice!

The Right Choice
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
So many times in life we are faced with choices that do not look bad at the start. Whether we decide one way or the other, it may seem ok. The truth though is that a way that appears to be right may not be. We might feel like we are hearing from God but the truth is it is our flesh speaking, our own wants and desires.
Paul said in 1 Corinthians twice (6:12 & 10:23) says everything is permissible or that we have the right to do anything but not everything is beneficial. You see some choices that look good at the start may not be the choice or plan God has for you.
Maybe today you are looking at trying out for a sports team or after school activity, applying for a new job, about to start a relationship, contemplating a move or deciding on college. There is God’s plan which will be right and the other plans which may seem right but could lead to destruction.
The truth is we have all made the wrong choice at times, something that seemed right but in the end was wrong. Growing up, I remember a country music song, which had the line, “I thank God for unanswered prayers.” Basically the choices that we really wanted at the time, that we prayer fervently for, but in the end was not the best thing for us.
Take some time today with whatever decision you are facing and submit it completely to God. Don’t get impatient but wait to hear God’s still small voice in His answer and place your trust in Him. A few weeks ago our devo was on Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”
Surrender you decision to God and allow Him to guide you in choosing the way that is right and leads to life!
