You Have A Spiritual Gift
“Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.” - Romans 12:6-8
It has been said, "He who buries his talent is making a grave mistake."
This statement is true for so many Christians. God has given each believer a spiritual gift that He wants us to use for His glory, but we often don't use it. We may deny that we actually have a spiritual gift or if we do acknowledge it, we may doubt its usefulness to glorify God, and then just bury it. You are a special part of the body of Christ. If you are a Christian and are not serving in some way, the church as a whole suffers. It’s time to realize that God wants you to be involved with His work! He is so gracious that by His Holy Spirit He freely distributes gifts to all who are saved. He not only wants us to know our spiritual gifts, but He expects us to grow in them each day. In order to carry out what God desires, we must be willing vessels to permit the Holy Spirit to work through us for the benefit of others. No matter what gift we are given, the working out of it is for the purpose of service of others.
God wants to use you! If you don’t know what your gifts are discover them! Whatever your gift, use it in love to serve the Lord and uplift others. Let love be your highest goal!
He has chosen you for the purpose of doing great things for Him. God gave you a gift and with your gift He will be glorified!
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to Your name give glory, for the sake of Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness! - Psalm 115:1
Gifts of the Spirit were first given to the early church “to equip God’s people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ.” -Ephesians 4:12 These graces are still active today. Therefore,“you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts.” -1 Corinthians 12:31
Each of us have a different gift. USE IT! -Romans 12:6
“Do not neglect the gift which is in you, that special inward endowment which was directly imparted to you by the Holy Spirit.” -1 Timothy 4:14
Father God, your precious Holy Spirit desires to work through me for the service of others. Guide me and use me for your will. Open my eyes and ears to Your call on my life. May I use the gift You place within me wisely and in cooperation with the Spirit to encourage and uplift others. I am confident you will provide a way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
