“It is God who directs the lives of His creatures; everyone’s life is in His power” - Job 12:10
God’s scale is very different from the world’s that weighs our souls worth. What other people say about you doesn’t matter, what matters is what God says about you. God doesn’t want us to miss this truth. He wants us to know how special we really are. How many people in your life make it a point to let you know how special you are? Not many. Well God does. Throughout scriptures in the Bible there are many verses about His love for us. Jesus came to earth for the sick, the broken, and the insecure. One of our deepest needs in life is to feel secure, to feel valuable, to feel acceptance. He came to fill our deepest need with His love. As believers we were created to feel safe, secure, confident and bold.
What do you think of yourself? How do you feel about yourself? Do you ever compare yourself with other people and feel belittled if you can’t do what they can do or be like them? Have you ever said “I wish I looked like her” or “I wish I had what they have” or “I wish I could do what you do”?
Stop evaluating and comparing! We do this all the time, consciously and unconsciously. I do it mostly unconsciously. Stop judging yourself by one of the world’s standards that don’t matter: appearance, affluence, achievement, and approval. Reality is that beauty fades with age, possessions wear out, someone else will surpass your successes, and not everyone will like you.God knows your humble heart and He sees your acts of love and kindness. Your actions form a lasting testimony of your fidelity and faith. The things you hear, the things you see, and the things you experience now will not last forever. He will never forget nor forsake those who incline their hearts to Him. Have hope and faith in that promise. Learn to love God and be His disciple in word and in deed. Realize how much you matter to God. Psalm 139:16 says “You, God, saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!”
You are His child and He wants you to know that YOU MATTER TO HIM! -1 John 3:1
When you see yourself the way God sees you, it will transform you. God is love. You have been lovingly and wonderfully created by God’s very hands. And He really loves you!
