The Test

Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.-Psalm 26:2,3

Have you ever felt like giving up and then start feeling sorry for yourself.? Or get discouraged and have a pity party.? When you do.. stop and think about what Jesus endured for you. Think about the attacks and the criticism that He went through. Think about the abuse and cruelty He experienced not for His benefit, but for yours. You may be facing some very real, discouraging challenges in life. But what you are really going through is a test of your faith.

"Why does God test us?"

When we ask why God tests us, or allows us to be tested, we are admitting that testing does indeed come from Him, as clearly taught in His word. Although we are forbidden to test God.- Deuteronomy 6:16, Matthew 4:7. When God chooses to test us, He does a valuable thing. David sought God’s testing, asking Him to examine his heart and mind and see that they were true to Him.- Psalm 26:2, 139:23. The word “test” means to prove by trial. Therefore, when God tests His children, the purpose is to prove that our faith is real. Not that God needs to prove it to Himself. He knows all things. When you are tested He is proving to you that your faith is real, that you are truly His child, and that no trial or test will ever overcome your faith.

Will you endure? Will you persist? Will you make it to the end? Will you be disciplined? Will you finish well?

“Think about all He endured when sinful people did such terrible things to Him, so that you don’t become weary and give up. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin!”- Hebrews 12:3-4

When we are tested God always gives us an open-Book test. With the help of God's instruction Book -- the Bible -- we should always pass the test.
