Stand on Facts not Feelings
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” -Deuteronomy 31:8
I don’t always feel God’s presence. Sometimes it seems He is a million miles away. Can you relate with me? What do you do during times like that?
I know that feelings are not reliable because of how often and how easily they change. Thankfully God’s word does not change. No matter what our circumstances or how we are feeling. God is always present. He says, “I will never leave you; never will I forsake you.”-Hebrews 13:5 He is the same compassionate God on good days as He is on bad days. I am going to stand on – facts. Not feelings. Choose to stand of facts, then act accordingly. Does your mood need to be lifted from despair to hope? Start singing God’s truths. Sing, SIng, Sing! Memorize bible verses and then say them out loud adding “This is the truth and I stand on it.”
“Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” -Lamentations 3:22,23
Affirm God’s truths, and then your feelings will catch on to the message and move over from despair to hope.
Stand on the Facts!
Father God, thank you that you have said, “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you”. Knowing you are with me, I will move ahead with confidence. In your Name I pray, Amen.
