Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!- Psalms 96:3
I went on a vacation with my family and some of our friends. They believe there is God but they haven’t yet asked Him into their heart. I have always wanted the opportunity to share my faith with them and how I got where I am. I am sure God has given me the opportunity many times but I allowed fear to hold me back. This weekend I jumped on the opportunity and as a result after tears were shed someone I have been praying for for years has made the decision to come to church and I can’t wait to see what God has already done.
The idea of sharing your faith can seem intimidating but once you step out with those first words the rest falls into place. God meant for us to be witnesses and to share Jesus with others. Stop making it complicated by thinking you need to take a course on ministry! Sharing your faith with those around you! It is a vital responsibility for you as a Christian.
I wanted to guard my words and be careful with what I said but I found out it was easier than I had thought.
If you had an opportunity to share your faith today, would you?
I started sharing my faith first through the FB and then I was asked to do a video of my story and faith for Come On Let’s Go and now it seems a little more comfortable to share Jesus with others. One step at a time start sharing Jesus with others. Social networking sites are a great place to start. You are more than welcome to start by sharing on IDEVO. Think about it... How much time do you spend each day on social networking sites?- Be honest!
What about your mobile device scrolling through twitter and news feeds on facebook, reading articles your friend posted and looking through pictures? The influence of the internet is both mind-blowing and phenomenal. Within seconds of a post, hundreds of people in your social network are given a glimpse of YOUR life: your thoughts, your interests, even your fears and beliefs. Why not share your faith there.?
Sharing your faith doesn’t need to take a lot of effort or work, engaging in simple small talk about what you are doing and an invitation can lead to another life being saved for Christ.
Are you open about your faith with your non-christian friends?
Everyone loves stories, especially ones that give an “inside look” into someone else’s life. Ask God to give you opportunities to tell your story, and look for openings. People you meet may comment that there’s something different about you, or even ask you why you’re such a “religious” person or How things changed. Those moments are windows of opportunity to tell your story of faith.
Enjoy sharing with others the incredible story of what Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, is doing in you! I know I am.
