God's Got Your Back!

God's Got Your back!

2 Corinthians 4:7-9 “We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.”

I happen to love this verse  in 2 Corinthians and it has been in my head ever since I heard our worship team sing it in Darryl Evans song, “Trading My Sorrows.” There have been times in my life where I have felt persecuted for taking a stand for what I believed, become anxious and worried for my family during times of searching for a job, scared for the health of a child, yet each time God had my back. He has never left me or forsaken me and I stood on those words, plus the ones from 2 Corinthians and Philippians 4:4-7. They gave me strength and peace during my times of trouble.

So many times our situation or trouble feels like the weight of the world is pressing down on us, like we are at the end of our rope and cannot go any further. God wants each of us to understand that it is through him that we will get our strength, our power to overcome our situation is found only in Him. The next time you are feeling overwhelmed by troubles, worried beyond belief, feeling persecuted or just beat up by the world. Just remember we cannot be crushed, driven to despair, abandoned by God or destroyed. We are children of the Living God and as followers of Jesus Christ, He has our backs.

No matter what you are going through today. Jesus can give you a joy unspeakable, peace that surpasses all understanding and the strength to overcome your situation. Let go and allow God to operate and work in your life today.
