Have Faith!

Have Faith!

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. ~ Hebrews 11:1

I love the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I have always been a big Harrison Ford and Sean Connery fan and there are very few of their movies I have not enjoyed watching. In this movie Harrison Ford has to make a leap of faith. Basically he comes to this deep chasm that is impossible to jump across. All of his reasoning and human abilities were used up to this point getting through the other traps and obstacles in the way of his quest and now he is stuck with two choices. To either turn back and give up or to have faith beyond his own limitations and continue forward.

Faith for us as believers is very similar. As long as our abilities, strength, knowledge or finances can overcome our circumstance or problems we are fine. We are even fine when we can figure out how to get to the result we need or know who to turn to for help. But what happens when we realize there is nothing we can do or anyone else can do to overcome our problem or difficulty? That is where faith comes in, Faith is when we quit focusing on our limitations and we begin to focus on the unlimited power of God in our circumstances.

The Bible is filled with God’s promises for our lives and we must remember He is always there beside us (John 14:16 ), takes our weakness and makes it a strength (Hebrews 11:34 ) and that there is nothing that is impossible with God (Luke 18:27 ). So the next time your problems or circumstances see greater than you. Remember to focus on what God CAN DO instead of what you CAN’T DO.

Lord, I placed my trust in you. I may not know the outcome but I trust you do. I surrender everything to you and place my faith and trust in you today. Help me to have faith the size of the mustard seed and to see my mountain moved by your power. I thank you in advance as you strengthen me and turn my weaknesses into strengths. Help me to have the confidence to trust in you today. In Jesus' name. Amen
