1 Corinthians 1:24-25 “But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.”
Have you ever felt overwhelmed, unequipped or completely unprepared for what God has called you to do? Shortly after I gave my life to the Lord, I was asked to lead two different Bible Studies on our aircraft carrier that was going on deployment. I told my young adult’s pastor how inadequate I was, how everyone who attended had been saved longer than me, how they all knew more than me. Basically how could I do this challenge God had placed before me. The advice I received has stayed with me to this day.
It was that in all my weaknesses I thought I had, God had and was preparing me for something more. You see, God is not looking for the perfect person, He is actually looking for an imperfect person He can use to do extraordinary things. GK Chesterton once said, “God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called.”
It means that if we thought we could do God’s plan on our own, with our talents, abilities and resources. We would not need to rely on God. Instead God is looking for someone who may not look extraordinary on the outside, who may not be equipped, or have the ability to do what they are about to do but is extraordinary in the inside because of who resides in them and their weaknesses, God will turn into strengths
No matter what you are facing today, no matter how hard or impossible the mission may seem. Remember with God, all things are possible. Allow Him to work in you and through you, you’ll be surprised at the results.
