Ephesians 5:20 “And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
From the YFA team “Happy Thanksgiving.” No matter where you live in the world, take time today to give thanks to the Lord.
There is a little more to this verse to fully understand it. Ephesians 5:15-20 fully says the following,
“So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Today is a day that people in America take time to give thanks. We get together with family and friends. Eat way too much turkey, stuffing and all sorts of deserts. It is the day we give thanks, yet like New Year’s Resolutions it is something that comes only once a year, yet as believers is something we should be doing on a daily basis.
God does not deserve our thanks one day a year, he deserves our thanks every day of our lives. Today, make the commitment to daily give thanks to the Lord and to live a life of that gives thanks to God through our actions, attitude and example to others. Take time to thank Him for what He has done in your life and have the faith to thank Him for the things yet to come.
