Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”
I tend to struggle when something does not go my way. Peace disappears and I get a bit agitated. The thing is when I do not have peace, I am also not very thankful to God.
As the holiday season is upon us. We all tend to get a little stressed. Like Martha, maybe it is having a ton of people in the house that makes things a bit crazy. Or like my family, you are dealing with all the holiday traffic as you drive or fly to visit family. Our peace goes out the window when we get stresses and agitated. If we are not careful, we forget the reasons behind us getting together with family and friends.
Take some time today, especially if you have been stressed over the start of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Take a deep breath, spend some time alone with the Lord, crank up the praise and worship music. This will allow the peace of Christ to rule in our hearts and allow us to truly be thankful this holiday season.
