Our Eye's Are on You

“For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You” -2 Chronicles 20:12

Everywhere I look, the enemy is attacking. It seems this world is falling apart. Bullying, suicides, marriages falling apart, cancer, lost people, children who are walking away from God. There is too much to list!  There are  insurmountable problems on every side.

Sadness, loneliness and fear plague individuals and it seems pain doesn’t take a break for the spring, summer, fall or winter..  Where do we turn when life overwhelms us?

Jehoshaphat prayed a prayer nearly 3000 years ago in Judah, and that same little prayer is problem being prayed today in Israel, Texas, Africa, or maybe even in your neighborhood.

“God, We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You”

These words resonate in my heart. Its truth rings out  and causes me to acknowledge my helplessness, but God alone can help.

God responded to Jehoshaphat with these words, “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” -2 Chronicles 20:15

We are not alone!  The battle is not ours to win or lose; instead the battle belongs to God!

When there are no answers, no strategies for conflict resolution, no medical avenues available, know where to run may Jehoshaphat’s prayer be our my lips. Our God is a powerful God!
