With Obedience Comes Blessing!
"If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the world." Deuteronomy 28:1
The truth that obedience to God brings blessing, is the first principle in understanding what it means to be a child of God. Failure to understand this first principle and failure to implement it will forfeit God's BEST in your life.
When I think of obedience I associate it with raising my children or when I see ill – behaved children.
Being submissive to God's will, is important at every stage of a believer's maturity. As our faith grows, obedience becomes a cornerstone of fellowship with God. He teaches us more about His love and precepts while drawing us closer to Himself.
Have you ever told yourself that you have learned to live righteously and no longer need to make a concentrated effort.? If you have in a short time, you will find yourself far off the path God intended, wandering around with a pile of rags you think are righteous acts. -Isaiah 64:6 Physical maturity can diminish our obedience.
Disobedience says, I know how to govern my life, but nothing could be further from the truth. The bible and I am certain a lot of church members are full of stories to prove that obedient submission is the only way to joy. Nothing good can come from rebelling against the God, and nothing bad can come from obeying Him.
Obedience is the pathway to wisdom and blessing. Make the choice to conform your will to God's. Place your hope and trust in the One who created you and loves you without condition. A life well lived is one in which our eyes are focused on God, our ears are open to the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit, and our hearts feast on the word of God.
When you choose to be obedient to God you are guaranteeing yourself the finest that God has to offer. There is no second best for an obedient child.
Remember that with obedience comes blessing.
Don't miss the blessings God has for you in life.
God, thank You for the promise that obedience always brings blessing. Open my eyes to the less obvious ways You desire to bless me. Enable me to grow spiritually so that I will value the things You value. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
