Are you A Scatterbrain?

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.-Romans 12:2

Sometimes I think the left-brain-orderly side of my thinking and the right-brain-creative counterpart are at war. I love to plan, organization, and routines. Knowing this, you might imagine me to be a tidy, organized mother of well-groomed and focused children with a well-planned day. If so….You’d be wrong!

I have my shining moments, but they are fewer and farther between than I care to admit. If ideas are about planning, time management and organization, then I’m over the moon, ask my husband. My thinking gets stuck somewhere in my brain and does not trickle down the way it should. I have so many theories, ideas, (and dare I say some darn good advice), but everything going on at once in my mind because of not being able to concentrate on one thing at a time has caused me to be scattered. I know I need to work on my own habits and self discipline, especially with regards to my time but I feel like a fly on sticky paper when I start to move. STUCK! I am sure some aspects of what I am saying may seem funny but a disorganized person is a defeated person, and no matter who we are, if we are not organized we’ll never accomplish as much as God intends for us to. God does not want us to be ineffective, disorganized, and unable to accomplish all that we should. He wants to help us become more organized and disciplined. The Bible says, “The corrections of discipline are the way to life”-Proverbs 6:23 This is why I am committing my problem to God. He loves me, and when we come by faith to Him He gives us a whole new set of priorities.

If you feel scatterbrained  ask God to help you find practical ways to be better organized and “Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you..” -Proverbs 4:25 and don’t let yourself be distracted by something else. Remember- “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”-Philippians 4:13

Turn your can'ts into cans and turn your dreams into plans.
